"Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the class this weekend. I thought the class was awesome. I wish it would have been a 2 day class. It was well worth the drive. On the way home we brain stormed on how to best deploy our new equipment. Thanks for planting a spark. We are always looking for ways to better our services for our citizens. We are already planning/hoping to go to the train-the-trainer class next year. I'm going to put the screws to the brass to try to go to the WRT course in July. Thanks again to you and your staff. Just a quick e-mail to let you know what a great time I had this year at
both the the Ice Rescue Technician and Ice Rescue Train-the-Trainer
courses. The instructors were very understanding, encouraging and
displayed a great depth of knowledge when asked questions. I liked the
fact that the class room portion of the course was kept interesting by
having actual incidents related back to the topic being taught. The
practical portion of the class was kept safe and at a pace where
learning could take place. Instructors made sure that students entered
the water feet first and with their hands over their mouth's to prevent
Torso Reflex. Instructors were quick to point out areas where students
could improve. Examples of this were when 'rescuers' were pushing the
'victims' off the ice shelf when performing a solo rescue with a
backboard or solo rescue with a ladder evaluations. Instructors were
quick to give encouragement and praise when students performed a good
'rescue'.
I have taken many courses in the past years and few can compare to the
Ice Rescue courses for content and practical evaluations. Thank you for
sharing your knowledge of ice rescue and for a great time!
