Dexter, Michigan sends five

The Dexter Area Fire Department sent five FF/EMT's Tuesday afternoon to aid in rescue attempts.
We all knew in our hearts what had to be done and within hours of the attack five of us were packing our gear. Driving all night we all became restless and emotional. Not one of us was prepared for what lied ahead. We all thought that possibly we would run calls at some outside department with limited resources. What happened Wednesday morning, September 12th, will never be forgotten. We crossed the George Washington Bridge and headed straight for ground zero.
The five of us spent the following days side by side with New Yorks finest Firefighters and Police officers searching for the heroes buried amid the rubble.
We would like to thank not only the Firefighters and Police but the New York citizens who supported our efforts with kind words, food, and prayer.
