Serving the needs of our many visitors, this section provides quick access to a host of information and resources related to aquatic safety, water rescue, ice rescue, and EMS.


Case Studies Our Drowning & Aquatic Injury Case Studies are designed to educate Aquatic Facility Managers, Lifeguard Instructors and Lifeguard Supervisors about the hazards and risks associated with aquatic facilities.


In The News Straight from the press, recent and archived news stories relating to drowning, near-drowning, and/or aquatic injury incidents or other news stories pertinent to Lifeguard, Public Safety and Rescue personnel.


Spotlight On Rescues The Spotlight on Rescues page shares stories of lifesaving heroes around the world who have been involved in Water Rescue incidents. If you have a Water Rescue incident story you would like to share with others, please e-mail us with the specifics and we will add it to the page.

Submerged Vehicle Incidents Each year, there are approximately 1,500 incidents in the United States of vehicles leaving the roadway and entering the water that results in approximately 600 deaths. This section has been created to educate First Responders and the public about these incidents as well as to provide instruction in the Escape and Rescue from Submerged Vehicles.
