A 25-year-old Springfield man who apparently went swimming at Virginia Beach before lifeguards were on duty was found dead and floating in the water yesterday about 10:20 a.m., police said. Authorities said they were treating the death of Delmer Octavio-Nunez as an accidental drowning but were still investigating. Virginia Beach police said Octavio-Nunez appeared to have gone into the water before 8 a.m. after traveling from Northern Virginia with a group that had chartered a bus. Several members of the group played soccer together and had relatives in Honduras, police said. Virginia Beach police also were investigating as a possible drowning the death of a Bolivian man who was pulled from a motel swimming pool. Claudio Andrade, 72, of La Paz, died Saturday afternoon at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. And Friday, an 8-year-old Richmond boy drowned in the ocean off Virginia Beach after plunging into a wave in waist-deep surf, police said.
