Lifeguard Operations and Management

Comprehensive and fast-paced 3-hour classroom-formatted program designed for Lifeguard Instructors and Supervisors; Aquatic Facility Managers and Operators; Aquatic and Recreation Professionals; and Lifeguard personnel.

This program focuses on the prevention, recognition, and management of drowning and aquatic injuries and presents numerous principles, considered to be the Standard of Care within the industry.

Numerous case studies are presented of actual drowning and/or aquatic injury incidents, along with numerous video and/or audio clips of incidents or news stories about these incidents.

Gerald M. Dworkin (Gerry) is a professional Aquatics Safety & Water Rescue Consultant for Lifesaving Resources, LLC and is the author of the "Lifeguard Competition Guidebook", the "Professional Aquatics Safety Seminar Guidebook", the "Water Rescue Course Guidebook", and the "Ice Rescue Course Guidebook" (published by Lifesaving Resources Inc.) and "CPR for Infants and Children" (published by the Child Welfare League of America).

Gerry has an extensive background in Aquatics Safety, Water Rescue, Ice Rescue, EMS, Public Safety and Rescue. Along with his textbooks, he has written and published over 40 articles, and has consulted in over 250 drowning and aquatic injury litigation cases as both a Plaintiff or Defense Forensics Expert.

A graduate from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Gerry has over 30 years experience as a Professional and/or Volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and has worked and consulted for the American Red Cross as a Health and Safety Services Professional/Consultant. As a frequent guest speaker and trainer in the Lifeguard and Aquatics Safety and Recreation sector, as well as the Public Safety and Rescue sector, Gerry is considered an expert and qualified educator throughout the country.

In 2010, Gerry was named by Aquatics International Magazine as one of the Power 25 Aquatic Professionals in the U.S. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA.org); the Sounding Board for the National Headquarters of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Curriculums; and on the Advisory Committee for the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Gerry has appeared on such national media broadcasts as CNN; MSNBC News; CBS' Early Show; ABC's Good Morning America; NBC's Today Show; The Weather Channel; The Discovery Channel; and the Fire Emergency Training Network (FETN) and is frequently contacted for interviews by publications throughout the U.S. on matters pertaining to submersion incidents; Lifeguard operations and management; submerged vehicle incidents; aquatics safety; water rescue; and ice rescue.

Policies

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Space is limited in all Lifesaving Resources' sponsored training programs. Therefore, payment for tuition (via check or credit card) or an agency purchase order is required prior to participation. Your fee is refundable - less a 15% administrative processing fee if you cancel more than 14 days prior to the scheduled course or seminar date. Notice of cancellation must be provided in writing via Mail, Fax or E-mail. Please be sure you receive a confirmation of cancellation in return. Cancellation notifications less than 14 days prior to the course or seminar date will result in forfeiture of the entire tuition. Substitutes are welcome. Lifesaving Resources, LLC reserves the right to cancel any scheduled course or seminar due to insufficient registrations.
