Woman Saved From Crash Into Water
Officers Treated For Hypothermia
BOSTON -- A 55-year-old woman is fighting to survive Thursday morning after crashing her car into a Methuen, Mass., stream.
An alert police officer found the car upside-down in a swampy area off Bear Meadow Street Wednesday.
The driver was still in the car, trapped under water.
Police said she was submerged for at least 15 minutes and they had to perform CPR on her at the scene.
The woman -- who is a relative of Methuen's police chief -- was listed in critical condition at Beth Israel hospital.
The two officers who saved her were treated and released for hypothermia.
