MILLBURN, N.J. -- Two boys were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after falling through ice on a pond, police said.
One of the boys was submerged in icy water up to his chin; the other was partly submerged, trying to hold up his friend, Weber said.
Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene, pulled the boys out and transported them to Overlook Hospital, where they were being treated. Both were expected to survive, Weber said.
The temperature in the area was 47 degrees at the time.
